“Starship 44” by Robin Boer

Hello readers!

These past weeks have been full. I won’t say I’ve been “busy” or that things have been “hectic” because that’s not true–I’ve chosen the tortoise pace for this year and I’ve been sticking to that plan fairly effectively. I’m cramming less in each day, and that’s working for me. But even so, there hasn’t been a dull moment.

  • I turned in my final proofs for The Sky Woman
  • I’m wrapping up a data-migration project that has spanned many months
  • I’m continuing to help wrap up the estates of my father-in-law and my uncle, who both passed away earlier this year
  • I’m 15k words into a new (very strange) science fiction novel
  • Mark and I just delivered a new Momu breakbeat single “Dazed and Enthused” (available on Beatport Aug. 1)

So there hasn’t been much time for blogging. But ideas are percolating …

Or if you know anybody who fits that description, please forward them the link.

I’m still working on very short ways to describe the novel. At the moment I’m describing The Sky Woman as “anthro-scifi,” with post-apocalyptic, climate change, and genetic engineering elements. My biggest influences include Iain Banks, Kim Stanley Robinson, Octavia Butler, Margaret Atwood, and David Mitchell.
